Hi, I have just bought a DELL INSPIRON 1525 (high end configuration)..

Now I have tried to download Skype many times but everytime an error is being generated..

Where does the error occur, when you first try to run the installation program or when you are almost finished installing it?

  While downloading Skype, first of all I receive a Internet Explorer "security warning" ----
  
  The publisher could not be verified.Are you sure you want to run this software.
  Name: SkypeSetup.exe
  Publisher: Unknown Publisher
  
  Then after clicking the "Run" tab, I encountered another problem----
  
  C:\Users\VibhuDubey\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary Internet Files\Contact.IES\8MNJ9IVZ\SkypeSet[1].exe is not a valid Win32 application
  
  And thus I cannot download Skype...
  
  However I have downloaded other messengers like MSN , Yahoo etc.
  
  But the problem is with Skype only...

Does the download save to your PC at all? Have you tried to install any oter web-based installs?

It sounds like your windows installer is malfunctioning.

There is a fix for that. I have the utility but do not know where I got it. If you contact me by email or give me your email I will send to you.

Download the utility from this location at MS.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
It should clean up the installer.
